A Bit More about Me:

From the earliest I can remember I have been captivated by beauty and authenticity. In high school I would style my friends hair and then take their photos. I interned at a photography studio until I went to Cosmetology School in Indianapolis. Once I graduated I loved every moment working in various salons. It was the perfect job for me as I went to college and studied philosophy and theology and how they intersected with women’s roles throughout history. After getting married I spent quite a few years working as both a wedding photographer and a hairdresser. We ended up growing our family through adoption and very quickly had a crew of 6 children who needed a lot more of me at home as we all navigated the early years of love and chaos.

None of us share the same DNA but we couldn’t be happier about sharing the same last name! Our family includes 5 different ethnicities and a spectrum of various abilities. Everyday is an adventure and I can’t wait to tell you more about each of them and hear all about your family as well.

Now that they are all in school and becoming more independent by the day I felt a tugging in my soul to come back to the work that I loved deeply for so many years.

I am :

  • a PEOPLE person: I love making new friends and I love cultivating old ones. I love the uniqueness that every person brings to this world. I love different cultures and different backgrounds because I find that they teach me new things and often leave me more curious about and in love with humanity.

  • a PLACE person: Meaning I love people from all over but I truly am at my best loving on people who live in the same place I do. Fort Worth has held a special place in my heart for years and even after a 3 year move to Florida, it drew us back.

  • a HANDS-ON person: so doing hair for me isn’t just about creative custom hairstyling but about connection as well.

  • a FAITH person: I love talking about my faith… which if I’m honest includes way more questions than answers. It also includes a lot of pain and loss as I’ve pressed closer into those questions and watched as many I love become more distant. It hasn’t always been easy but I can see how my faith has continually led me on one of the greatest adventures I never could have imagined.
